After adding up all the stuff I needed (wished for) for the disco and the still not being able to fit all our gear in. the disco is gone and in it place a nice Red 4 door with an Isuzu up front. And a new learning curve ahead.
Already fitted with batteries, winch bar, 125ltr tank, roof rack, and a few other bits. Now all we have to do is decide where to go next. May head over where we have been before just for a comparison. Pick her up in the morning, won’t sleep tonight.

Welcome to the Isuzu clan.

This thread strongly suggests why the Defender 90 has not been successful in Australia!

well, what a change. rides much better than the disco, easy to drive around town, or at least the same as the tdi300, Tyers make a bit of a raket at about 80Klm, seats are good ( well my one is)
I was very concerned about going to an older vehical, nearly got a 2a a month or so back, but that had the same problems of cost to fitt fule tank, water, change springs etc. the 110 has every thing fitted allready, so its like buy the extras get the car for free

Well we have had her for a couple of weeks, all good so far, a few little problems. Who ever owned her before was a fastidious type.

Transferring camping kit from the disco I haven’t completed yet.

Need to get some more rims and tiers more suitable for the flinders, what she has now will just get cut up in no time.

Need to get stuff,
water tank.
Front seat foam rubber,
not important but I wouldn’t mind replacing Dash panels.
The bracket to hold shovel etc on the back,
Driving Lights.
UHF \ CB

Things to fix
Brake fluid leak from the Balance? That’s a replacement job.
Oil leak back of TF case, easy
Remove the barrier from behind the front seats and remount\change it to a 1\2 barrier behind the back seat.

Well ain't a small world! I had recently retired from this honorable corner of AULRO because I traded my beloved old "Red Turtle" for a Tdi Disco. Now the "Red Turtle" has re-appeared in the hands of "Clean32"! Congats! You are the fourth owner of this machine, all dedicated LR enthusiasts who looked after it very well.

The Red Turtle has a lotta history and is very well known to some LROCWA members. The Red Turtle led 7 tag along trips in the Kimberley over the 5 years we lived in Derby. Since I led trips to the most out of the way backblocks and old disused tracks we had a ball and what a perfect machine for that work. The Red Turtle never let us down despite having to do all the scrub bashing up front.

Mr Clean32, send me a PM so we can meet up (I live in Morphett Vale). I have various things in my shed you might be able to use.

I have dozens of photos and movies of the Red Turtle in the hard stuff.

Congrats on the upgrade! I've recently gone the Isuzu as well. Still keeping my 90 tho, not getting rid of it that easy!

Looks great!!! That colour must have been popular!!!

How many red countys/120s do we have on here? I know of:

Clean32 (county)
Offender90 (120")
Incisor (county)
me (county)

Maybe we should have a roll call of the most popular colour...

All going well. we have done a couple of short mainly highway trips, plenty of room and the ride is very good.

Replaced drums and pads now she stops straight and quite quickly, still needs a bit of efort to do so. and all the travel has gone.
dialed the rear dif in and cast an eye over every thing, all good so far.

Made up a draw out of ply, thats the cooking stuff sorted. got a fly poles pegs all sorted and stored away. axe shovel etc all stored. Camping Table chairs same. just need a high lift jack

Next on the list is front dif, just a dial up seals etc, am still to decide on if i should change to oil bearings or leave them as thay are. probably will leave them and i like a clean floorpan and drive way

I would have thought that they'd be oiled if PO kept them as standard. It's only a later thing having them greased. Or so I thought.

Cheers
