What should I be looking for??? Suspension woes.

I have a steepish downhill driveway and when I back the Deefer out and turn left (reversing). There is a noise that I could only describe as a "booing" coming from the left front of the Landy. However in conjunction with the " booing" noise something mid vechile seems to move and make a noise:angel: aswell. I have had a look but cant find anything obvious.

The mid vehicle noise could be the A-frame ball joint. Is it a clunk? Does it happen on other corners?

As for the other noise... are you on full lock or near full lock, what size tyres, do they rub? Could be CV's or lots of things? Check the condition of the steering damper too.

A spring moving in seat. Maybe bushes in leading arm.
B handbrake rubbing in reverse.

Most likely thing is the tyre hitting the radius arm, although a bare possibility is either a failing CV joint (not the usual noise they make!) or a loose wheel bearing allowing the disc to rub on the shield when there is a strong side load. The mid vehicle noise may be either transmission slack being taken up and released as the tyre/CV/brake drags, or the load caused by this moving loose or damaged:- rear bush on radius arm, gearbox mount, rear axle A-frame joint (this will transmit right through the vehicle, and may appear to come from anywhere), or loose rear lower link bush (same comment). A broken spring is a very long shot, if the break is right near the top, again, the bits moving over each other will transmit throughout the vehicle.

Sounds like normal creaks and groans too me, we have a steep driveway too, i require low range to back out of mine:o

It's just the springs and stuff going back into place;)
