Help!! Tappet/ticking noise 98 tdi 300 disco

Have ticking/tappet noise that I cant trace! Have adjusted numerous times, replaced spring/spacers , push rods and valve stem caps.

I have just refitted this engine after doing rings , mains, big end and timing belt. It didnt have this noise beforehand. Its not present at idle just when above 1500rpm

Is there any trick to setting the clearances on the discos ?

only a suggestion as i had similar noise on mine, Vacum pump was ticking due to spring being weakend, but could always try buying a cheap stethoscope and trying to find the noise that way!

My lift pump made a loud ticking noise before it went.
