Sal and I have been looking for a larger house for a while and have just purchased one today at auction...Of course the lead light windows, a garden much larger than a pocket handkerchief and a swimming pool will keep the rest of the tribe happy...the selling point for me was the shed.

I have suffered from shed envy for quite some time having spent many a contented hour in Cousin John's fiddling with bits of Land Rover.

At last room for the Defender (off the road), Sal's Model A Ford can come out of storage and become a project, no more messing about for tools and bits in boxes and making do with temporary work surfaces...the possibilities are endless.

Where's Mahn?

He can be found in the shed.:D

Congrats Mahn, we've had a house for a few years now but im still working on the council to let me put up the shed.

The shed is sitting on the ground along the back fence just waiting for the ok.

Yeah I know

Here's a link to the real estate site...the shed isn't well displayed.... a flaw in the agent's advertising strategy in my view.

Was it not there when you moved in?

Easier to seek forgiveness than permission.

Spot on.

Very rare find in that it is largely untouched and has been well maintained.

In Marrickville a lot of these houses have had lead lights aluminised, walls stuccoed and porches doric columned..a style that has been called "Feditteranean".

A few houses in the area still have the stable for the horse and sulky.

Very nice house but you city folk have a funny idea of a large block.
Even my half an acre is tiny!
Just wish the house on ours was as nice as that one.

Sal moved to the big smoke from a property of 40 acres and has suffered from claustrophobia ever since.

Our current place is a third land area of the new one

Thats criminal farcing more than one person into that tight a space:D.

I cringe at how close the houses are in Yass let alone Canberra. When ever I'm in Sydney I just shake my head at how many cars are at the lights with me.

Wow, lovely looking place, Mahn.

I was househunting today, too.

Here's this week's dream house.

Outhouse, one room has white ant problems in the floor, and someone lit a fire on the floor in one of the bedrooms.

But it does have hot water inside, which would be novel.:D

Cheers

Simon,

That's a great property that should scub up very nicely.

It gets my renovating juices going....but I don't think I'd have the energy these days.

I renovated my first house over the other side of the line in Stanmore it was falling down faster than I could fix it up. Even simple tasks like replacing a pane of glass ended up requiring the whole wall being replastered. But I won in the end.

That is a stunning place. I gather Marrackville is Sydney so must have cost a bomb!! Nice.

Have fun fitting out your shed. That is more fun than decorating inside (I reckon).
