I strongly suspect that paint job and general finish is better than it was when new!

G'day All, very neat indeed, and looking down into the engine bay it confirmed my suspicions re engine chassis mounts (from another post) were different to the later model L/rovers, wayne I'm sure you will remember the post LOL cheers Dennis:angel:

Looks great! Although that small incorrect size modern battery kinda spoils the engine bay.....

The little canvas top is interesting. I've seen that style top on the curved bow post 06105462 cars, but I didn't know that they had also fitted it on the flat bow models .

That is the standard we all aspire to reach ..

......

I do not believe that style top was ever an option on any Series 1 Landrovers. But I could be wrong.

Hi John

Yep, that short top is shown in the 1948 to 53 parts list .. the book does reveal a few drawings of the tops and the changes made at various car numbers. The little short top was an option ... but as I said I didn't realize it was used on the early vehicles.

Hi All
I believe Graham made this to keep the Sun off his head until the Tilt arrived from Exmoor
