Firstly many thanks to Scouse for assisting my wife and kids (at 9pm at night) in getting the failed window closed and taped up for their drive home along the freeway you are a gentleman and a legend.
Now being a tight ass pom I don't like paying retail for anything, if I can get the same part a lot cheaper I will, so with the power of the internowt I have re confirmed that like most car companies LR when building the D2 used the cheapest parts available to them

It's a Honda Civic motor and the same motor and gear size as the one on the D2. A 80 or 100 series Toyo motor looks almost identical.
