G'day,....
I have just picked up my third Disco, a new Discovery 3,...and yes, i love it.!!:p:p
A couple of dramas....which i am hoping someone can help me with..
The LAnd Rover Driving lights are very dissapointing,,,I was told could not fit anything else to the bumper...the brackets are cutting into the paint work....How can I boost the power of the lights?? I have been told have to go with HID???....but they are expensive..
Also, any ideas how i can mount the UHF Aerial???.. I had a bull bar on my old disco and it was never a problem...but now it is..
Hope you can help...

Welcome Farmer B.
What model D3 did you get? I've got the SE and never use the driving lights as the Bi-Zenon headlights are brilliant.
As for the aerial, you'll need a bonnet mount. ie pops up through the gap between the guard and bonnet. There's a D3 like this I see every morning on the way to work but I've never got up close to see how its done.
Cheers.

Thanks WhiteD#...yeah got the SE,....but need the driving lights as I go bush a fair bit, and need just that bit more power...
The aerial is a bummer to mount, as the bonnet is Shell Shaped and the gap is not straight through

There's a few suggestions in this (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-zone/59082-no-bullbar-aerial-options.html) thread
I'd give some serious consideration to a bullbar though.

When I was buying my D3 the dealer talked me out of the driving lights as he said they wouldn't look that effective compared to the Xenons. Sounds like he was right :-)
You could get some HID inserts for them on ebay. Chances are they take a standard H2 globe.
There are also glass mount antennas you can get: Laser Antenna (http://www.laser-antenna.com/latest_innovation.php)

Hello Farmer Brown and welcome!:D
If you can afford it get the ARB bar. It solves your antenna problems.
You definitely need the driving lights in the bush. The Xenons are outstanding, particularly in spread, but their distance penetration is poor. I have two IPF spots on mine, but would probably have gone for HID if I did it again.
Welcome to permagrin!:D
