I dont often have a whinge but today i was about to drive past another 110 and got ready for the defender wave. I saw that he saw me but got a feeling he was thinking 'oh here we go again' just by his body language.
Sure enough i waved and he forced a wave at me, but but he clearly didnt have his heart in it. It really p****ed me off!
Do i need to see a psychiatrist?
While i have your attention re: the 'Wave' has anyone missed a wave and felt really bad..... or even turned back for a second chance.Or worse chased someone down thru the traffic to get close enough.

I had an embarassing wave experience last week. My wife was driving and she did the wave to a Series III Game GOING THE SAME DIRECTION IN THE NEXT LANE! We then drove beside each other stopping at every set of lights with awkward sideways glances not knowing whether to acknowledge each other further or just pretend that it didn't happen. To make matters worse, it was about 30 degrees and we had the windows up with the A/C on and the poor couple in the Game were obviously sweating it out. Should I have wound the window down as a show of solidarity in their discomfort?

Seriously, we need to establish some etiquette ground rules for this sort of thing.

Funny
Changing from the disco to the County there has been a Noticable change.

Countys and fenders wave. but around town the discos have become so polite, making room to change lanes just real nice stuff. or maybe its the scratches and 33"s ?

Its like RR sport owners when I'm driving the L322 they look the other way at the lights or instead of pulling up alongside for a wave n hello, I have had two not even move along side but hang back:confused:, don't wave at D3's just too many of them;)

As for the Defender there is an ignorant ol codger with a beard who lives in Roleystone who totally ignores several waves so now I just finger instead..:p probably a LROCWA...nah can't be he is in a Landrover.:wasntme:

I got waves in my series 2A and in the 130 but when I owned the s1 disco I would wave at fenders and got no wave so I tried the disco owners no wave its like they just don't get it. I should be getting some waves soon as I'm getting into a county nearly finished fixing it up.:D

I saw five Defenders driving today - only got a wave from one of them (a guy)...the others saw me wave, but gave no reciprocation of the greeting. :( Two of them were women - it's strange I find women Defender drivers to be fairly unfriendly on the roads...I'm not having a go at you ladies btw, it's just funny the reactions to waves - I'm just being friendly because they're driving another Defender and not trying to hit on them! I'm not on the market anyway!

Now, didn't get one wave out of the Discos today - and passed a ton...I think if I have a Disco driver return a wave I'll get my eyes tested for seeing things. lol :p

Everyone has bad days occasionally so don't stress. Keep the waves up and new (to) Defender owners of both species will soon get it.

"When you drive the best you wave to the rest"

Hmmm, I should have a word to Rijidij about getting some more stickers made up...:D

Yes, there are exceptions! :) I wasn't making a general statement of fact, just an observation from the majority of Defenders driven by women. I think it gets back to being aware that driving a Defender isn't just like driving any other car...and to be fair there's a good chance that a lot of women just aren't aware of the Defender wave.

I understand - and seriously I'm not at all offended. :p

We also own a Disco. and when I take that out I never get a wave, so I stopped waving at Disco's around town. However we wave at ALL Landrovers when we go out bush:p

I gave up while driving the Disco.
I'll always wave back anytime.
I will only start one, away from the bright lights now.
