I have had a twin cab TD300 for some time, and belong to the Rover 4wd club in Launceston. I recently got a pale green two owner early Series 111 88" soft top which I am refurbishing. I have got correct wheels to replace the Rangy ones fitted and since I have to paint them it would be a good opportunity to use the correct colour! Would they have been white, or cream, or dirty cream, or light green, or something else? I have so far searched without success. Regards, Bill

Is yours the white twin cab with the black canopy over the tray? I've drooled over that a few times in town.
Welcome to AULRO. I think the wheels would have been a cream colour, I have a digital copy of the series 3 brochure here somewhere that i'll check.

Thanks for your help. You have the right Defender - goes well! To both shores of the Pieman, top of Mt Balfour, etc. And tows daughter's horse float!
If you're going past the bottom of Landfall Hill, please call in.
I thought that a dirty cream might be somewhere close. Do you agree?

on most series vehicles the rim colour matched either the upper body panel colour or the roof colour

Standard rims would have been the landrover colour - limestone

I have a couple of original sales brochures for the series 3 painted in wildlife green with limestone wheels. The modern PPG code for limestone is LRC.007

G'day Bill Griffith :)
Yup! the Off-white colour used on wheel rims was indeed "Limestone" used on all 2,2a,3's usually with the same colour Hardtop, was one of the most popular colours in the BMC/Leyland range, went on everything, Mini's,1100's, Rovers, 1800's,and Commercials:)
P.S. Don't toss the original Rostyle Range Rover rims as they are getting hard to get now, for those restoring Rangies.
cheers
