Hi All
I have a 11/01 TD5 Defender 130 and broke the Aux drive belt yesterday, it was towed by NRMA to the linked garage and I asked them to replace it. I had a new one in the truck that I had purchased earlier. They informed me later that it was too short and couldn't get it on. They were not sure exactly how it fitted as the old one wasn't there any more. The one I had purchased was I believe 1800 long. The garage did some checking and have ordered one 1820 long to arrive overnight if I am lucky. No one in town has any parts for Lrovers. I rang woodleys in Tamworth who used to be the Lrover dealers. I was informed that there is only I belt listed for my vechicle and it is the 1800 long belt. I also ordeded this belt to arrive today. Can anyone tell me which belt is correct and whether the mechanic in town is fitting it correctly, assuming that the 1800 belt is the correct one? The Defender has air conditioning. I don't have a service book with a belt fitting diagram, would anyone have this so I can show the mechanic?
I live out of town and need the truck going today as its my farm ute.
Cheers and Thankyou :)
Scott

Apart from the vagaries of freight couriers I've always found that Roverparts in Ballarat are good to get things quickly if required. Just let them know its urgent and you'd like it air bagged, if its in stock they have it to me next day... and I'm in a remote location.

As for the belt I have the diagram, but its on my laptop (RAVE doesn't work on the Mac:(). If someone else doesn't post it up, I'll do so later today (its not with me at present). Can't help on the belt length though.

For TD5 Disco -
Around alternator
under fan
over a/c
around idler
over PAS pump
under crankshaft
over tensioner

Thankyou both,
Generally we can only get products within a few hours drive overnight, I don't know where the mechanic is sourcing his products? Thanks for the advice about Roverparts. The place I have been getting parts from isn't the best sometimes and I have been thinking of changing suppliers.
Thanks for the help

This is for a Td5 Disco2. No idea if they are the same configuration as Td5 Defender. RAVE doesn't seem to have one for the Td5 Defender.

Thanks Justin
Both belts arrived and the one that the NRMA mechanic ordered was the one he fitted, 1820mm. The dealer one I ordered was too short and I will have to return it 1801mm. Difference though the dealer one was $30 and the one they got from Repco was $70. So much for ordering the original from someone who should know the correct belt.
The truck is going again and I have it home.
Thankyou all for your help
