inlet manifolds

Hi all,just another quick one, I hope. Is there any other type of inlet manifold I can use to run a Holley or Weber carby instead of the twin strombergs I now run. Veh is an 84 4 door rangie with the 3.5 petrol motor. What would be a reasonable price and where from. Regards Bob H

Edelbrock dual plane manifold. Get the spread bore version and run a Rochester Quadra Jet.

I totally agree with the first reply.
I picked up a 4 barrel inlet manifold with a 650 holley of ebay for $320.
I sold the 650 holley for $180 and bought a recoed quadrajet for $300.
Pretty straightforward hook up-so much tidier in the engine bay now.

Fuel economy is the same(marginally better) but so much more poke.
At 70km in third in my county when I put my foot flat to the floor and the big secondaries open up its like having a nitro switch. Well not really but you can certaintly feel it.
The quadrajet is pretty good for economy because most of the time you are just running around using the primaries and its only when you have 3/4 of WOT and enough manifold that the secondaries open up.
Once I put the disco headers on and open the exhaust it should improve it again.
Go for it.

ws, what's this carby like off-road is there a problem with flooding on steep inclines or steep downhill sections, are there any flooding problems on rough/corrugated roads, Regards Frank.

There will be no problems running a Quadrajet on ony angle you can drive on without falling over.

There is a float bowl packer or spacer that reduces any angle effect to almost nil. This is a recommended fitment for off raod racing.
