Tomorrow and finally my Disco is going to Sydney Shock Absorbers to get the Bilsteins re-valved properly they go on there diagnostic machine so that the suspension is all tuned correctly the front are 260/70 and the rear 275/78 it is amazing how well ACE works because when you corner its level as can be, but go over a speed hump and there about 6 bounces before it settles

Any way wish me luck

I went to Sydney Shock Absorbers yesterday to re valve my shocks I was quoted $450 to re valve and another $450 if they had to be reconditioned

They removed a front and rear springs to get the compression and expanding lengths, thanks Dobinson for such a crappy spring new king springs will be fitted next time round when the Rover get fatter

They found one shock actually failed and the gas and oil had mixed, it goes to show even bilsteins aren’t bullet proof, the shocks where bought 275/70 rear 260/68 front. Once measured the front where 240 front 260 rear RRRRRR there now 315/100 rear 300/100 front it drives fantastic now

I went to pay and the quote approx $900 became $1400 a little bit furious but satisfied at the same time it a weird feeling :(:):o:);)

G'day HAK,

Are these Dobinson springs the super flexy ones ? Did i read right that your not too happy with these ? I'm interested as i'm trying to work out which way to go with my car. I've had a good run on my Lovells / Bilsteinsfor a few years now. But the springs and shocks are starting to sag and feel old, the damping is not so good, so time to upgrade..

Cheers

George.
