I know people hate these threads, but I really have no idea what I should ask for or settle for. The time has perhaps come to sell my beloved D2, but I have no idea what sort of $ to expect for her:( Under no illusions here and realise I will be losing shed loads of money, but the more knowledgeable amongst you I’m sure, will have a better and perhaps more realistic idea of what I might be able to advertise my baby for.
My ’99 manual TD5 D2 has been lovingly serviced since I bought her in approx 2005 with 90,000ks on it – now has 170,000ks. This car has been serviced religiously every 5-10,000ks and all servicing and work has been carried out by a specialised land rover mechanic (Rick’s 4x4). All accessories and aftermarket parts have been fitted by professionals and nothing has been fitted by me. I can provide exact dates and k’s of when ALL work was carried out and will if I end up selling.
This car is not a daily driver and is used solely for taking my kids and family away camping and 4 wheel driving. It is used but I would like to think I am a considered driver off road and although I like the rougher stuff, I treat everything I own with care. This car has never failed to take me and my family to our destination, perform perfectly when she is there and then ferry us all back home again in comfort.
If anyone is considering buying a D2, I would encourage you to chat to anyone else in my club who knows me and the car.
