00D2TD5. Mods wanted:

Bull bar
2" lift
Tyres
Snorkel
Possibly chipped.

Questions

Suspension lift. Is this a case of simply installing 2" longer coils, (non sls model)? or, are shocks, etc involved as well?

Saw an excellent pic of a D2 with 03/04 shara bar on it. What are the best looking/functional options outside of this? Have noted that the ecb bar looks pants :o.

Tyres, like the GY Wranglers in an appropriate size.

New chip? Is this really worthwhile, and if so does it require a new exhaust system aswell?

2" lift coils and 2" longer coils are different things. But you will need coils and shocks. You may get away with not changing the front shocks but its best to do the whole lot at once to maintain proper balance in the suspension.

Sneigy on here has the tricks to fitting a Sahara bar to a prefacelift Disco2. You will need to change some of the front trim.

Tyres? Which GoodYear Wranglers? I do like the MTR. If you have a bar and a lift, then the 265/75-16 is a really good size if you want big tyres.

The chips are a good power upgrade. You dont need to do the exhaust aswell.

Everything in one post!

I think i saw the truck u mentioned with the bar work. Any other good looking bars specifically for the older D2?

For the suspension, i meant a 2" lift. Is a kit better, or go get the various parts separately?

Incidentley I'm in Perth so any suggestions for reatilers of these fine products in this area would be appreciated. What bugs me the most in trying to scope all this kit online is hopeless, as many sites will not list prices. Nothing more frustrating.

thnxs for all yr help guys.
regards
Nick

PS Slunnie, is that a samoyed in yr avatar.

:lol2:

If you're going for looks then I think the ARB Sahara bar adapted to the D2 is as good as it gets. Its a sexy looking bar. I like the ARB bar for its strength and looks, others like the TJM for it appraoch angle and looks. These are the main 2 bars typically used.

There are a heap of ways to do the suspension and I guess it depends on what you want from it or want it to do. For soft setups I would look at the King Springs and Bilstein shocks. For an easy to do setup, then ARB has a variety of specs off the shelf and will do complete kits. It also depends on how much weight you have such as type of bullbar, winch etc etc etc loading etc. You really need to spill on what you want from it and what conditions it is used under and in.

Sure is a Samoyed.

Here is Simba my seriously spoilt Samoyed. :)

Ok. TJM worth checking.
Re suspension, I want it to articulate, and perform off road, and the lifting was as much to give me choice in tyres and wheel size.. Extreme comfort on road is not a requirement.

Tried to flick a pic of our Samoyed Oskar, but got frustrated converting to smaller size.

thnx again.
