Hi,

Whilst repairing my brakes on my 1978 Series 3 LWB. I have stripped down the swivels and funny enough suddenly the front axle was off too. Leaking pinion seal and shot U/J's either end of the propshaft.

Going to replace bearings etc.
What I need to know is what axle is this.

It is not the one shown in the book that I have. I suspect it is from a later Series 3 or later Land rover.

Advice on type and were to get bearings and seals from.

O and would the flange need replacing or could it be cleaned up?

Cheers Chilly

Looks like a completely standard centre. The type with the flat section on the bottom was used on all coillers and from mid 70's or so on series.

Try some fine sand paper on the seal face. If that doesn't work it will need a speedy sleeve.
