Im from the UK, so our normal unleaded is 95ron, We've recently arrived here and purchased a 1.8 freelander to get us started. Does anyone use the E10 fuel? What are your comments? (for and against). What fuel do you use and why?
Cheers

I have had no worries running a 1.8K on any of the fuels available here, including 91ron, 95ron, 98ron and E10.
Cheers!

My $0.02
If its my car, I wont save $0.03 per litre and use E10, I'll use the real stuff.
My old Freelander got an extra 40km a tank using high octane (95+) over std.
E10 has a cumulative destructive effect on alloy, rubber and plastic....
It will take a fair time, but it is wrecking things....
Most people wont notice it for a decent time so dont blame the fuel.
I personally wouldnt run it in ANY engine I own.

I have to agree - certainly engines designed to run on enthanol such as the Holden export engines for South American markets are OK but with other engines like the 1.8K are more of a worry - it may do no harm but then it may - the savings in fuel price do not warrant the risk.
