Hi all,
i currently have the old P76 4.4 in my 2 door rangie, the engine is in great shape and runs great. I'm running the 350 holley reversed and has never missed a beat.
I am however looking for more refinement and better fuel economy with the option to go to gas at some point. So the injection option is being researched. I have found the setup: ECU, injection manifold complete, wiring loom and airflow meter for around 400 bucks. the only thing i need is spacer plates...i think??
has anyone done it?? can they give me the best way to set this up?? any tricks and things would be greatly apreciated.
thanks in advance.
Simon.

Yep ive done it except my 4.4 run on gas 99% of the time so injection stayed as standard 3.5
A mate has a RRC with a 4.6 and runs standard 3.9 injection;)

Dave at Rovacentre in Skye, Vic supplied me with what I needed when I put the 4.4 into my 88 EFI RR in place of the 3.5, including spacer plates and a ring for the starter motor (unfortunately the ring got left on the old starter when it was replaced in Alice Springs this year- apparently they are prone to problems without it).
Vacuum leaks are a common problem with the spacer plates- I seem to have overcome this by stripping all the paper gaskets off my valley cover and using top quality gasket goo on both sides of the valley cover and both sides of the spacers, with no actual gaskets at all. I also had to match the ports in both the manifold and the heads (and the valley cover) to the spacer plates as the ports in the spacers were much larger and I didn't want to leave them with big steps inside.
I couldn't seem to get the 3.5 EFI to run the 4.4 adequately, ended up installing a programmable EFI setup from SDS in Canada. Still going strong whilst the rest of the old bus falls apart around it. I believe the 3.9 injection system will keep up with the 4.4 though.

thanks peter, i'm leaning on the 3.9 injection as ive been told its the way to go for a smooth transition from carby to injection.
im also keen to gas it at some point so this will be far easier than gassing a carby.... do you have rovacentres number by any chance??

I was going to the exact same thing on my 4.4, but project has taken a different path !;) I obtained a late 3.5 injection and loom that I don't need now if any one is interested ...............Cheap ! I Don't have the Air flow meter.

Used to be listed as 'Rovacentre", now has changed to 'Rover Centre' 460 Ballarto Rd, Skye (03)97822630

By the way, I would have thought it was a very simple thing to put LPG on a 350 Holley- the old Impco offset mixer & air filter systems are surely a dime a dozen now? I even have one of these sytems in a box in the shed.

i looked into the impco 425 mixer but didint know how to plumb it, too work with gas and petrol. i guess im looking for the economy of fuel injection and the overall power increase of it too. I rekon its going to be some work but the outcome i believe will be a cleaner better power. ???

On a holley the old 300a mixer with the elbow works well or a 425 with the carby adapter and hooked up to a snorkle, personally if you plan on running lpg most of the time , dont bother with EFI unless you have the time and like to tinker.
