I plan to put diff locks in the front and back of my off road toy, does anyone know if the maxi drive lockers will fit. If not what are my best options.
This will be for a series 1 RR.

Cheers

You cant get Maxi Drive ones new anymore.

ARB are probably the best bet

TJM's Prolocker is currently out of production.

Cheers
Pete.

If you don't want to spend the money to get a ARB Air-locker, i suggest you get a Detroit locker! great products :)

Get a Detroit locker in the rear and chuck a truetrac LSD in the front, they are a high tension LSD so it wont let you down!!!!

This is the link to use if you would like to have a look at these GREAT product!!!

Cool will look into the detroit as it is going to get punished, the cheaper the better as i will probably break it regularly.

I plan to give this toy a very hard time.

jmac's still going
What he said.

Jack McNamara - Differential Specialists (http://www.mcnamaradiffs.com.au/) Best lockers going around IMHO.

Excuse my ignorance but why does jmac have such a "reputation"? I've heard many different people use unfavourable words to describe him.

I dont rate them that much, and dealing with him is slightly less pleasurable than stabbing yourself in the face with a fork....

He is just incredibly hard work... god knows what would happen if you had a breakage and needed a part as a spare...

Save yourself some serious grief and buy any of the other options... And I mean any of them....

x2.

I think his lockers are benchmark and axles outstanding, but the man is just a :censored: to deal with. Now that ARB have updated their locker (and even before the update) I'd just go there for basically the same product and save the anguish.

When I call it the centre, he would say....."its the hemisphere! beep beep beep beep." :lol2::mad:

If you call him and Jeff answers the phone then hang up and try in another 10mins. :D

How can you have that opinion? You rate TJM's Pro Locker (which has not been in production yet) which is the Mcnamara locker, He sold the manufacturing rights to TJM.
I'm also sick to death of hearing how unpleasant Jeff is, Fair enough on the phone he can be a bit short. But in person he has been in my experience a very helpful man, who will in some instances go to extraordinary lengths to give you a solution.
He is a very straight talking bloke who appreciates not being jacked around, but if you want a first class job he IS the man. If you want scones and cream with your afternoon tea as part of the customer service program. You might be better off elsewhere.

When's the last time you did that?............6 months ago I walked in and bought off the shelf an actuating mechanism for the manual difflock his father made.

Rant over, nuff said

There simply are no strength issues with the jacmac locker.

The pneumatic actuator that they use is far better than the actuator used in ARB's, which often leak because of the poor design.

The vacuum actuator in maxi lockers, has some advantages, but suffer from a long delay (because vacuum can not develop high enough force) when you need to unlock the front in a hurry (often).
