Does anyone know where I can get a LR Owners International or similar LR biased mag on subscription here in Oz? (So I can wallow in one eyed LR heaven!).

I currently have a subssription to 4WD Monthly, but the amount of content in that mag I find interesting is too small to justify the cost. That and anytime they have a LR featured half the article is dedicated to sling mud at LR's, and the technical part is full of errors, (eg mentions of automatic locking hubs on Defenders, the new "Puma" defender having a "hill start" mode....).

Anyway, any help will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Tim

It's just in the newsagents.... the ones that tend to have more magazines at least.

Hi Slunnie, unfortunalty my local news agent doesn't carry it :( (They don't even carry 4WD Monthly!).

That and it's nice to have something in the mail that isn't a bill!!

Why not trying a Google search on the title?

Should give you the name of the publisher and

They should have a website and a direct subscription option.

Edit: Try this http://www.lro.com/news.php'sid=159&page=1

Both LRO and LRM do international subscriptions. However, I also have a couple of years worth of back issues here if you want to borrow for a read whilst you're waiting for your first issue to arrive?

Thanks, I've only tried searching for the subscription in Australia, I didn't realise they did international subscriptions. I might have to take you up on that offer Jeff! No doubt we'll catch up when Dave visits.

Our local newsagency gets 2 copies each month. One is ordered for us and the other always sells to someone else (I'll have to find out who).

We originally had to ask them to get it in as it isn't in every newsagency.

You can subscribe, according to the latest edition it costs 66.50 POUNDS for 13 issues posted airmail to Australia from the UK.

We pay $A13.95 each edition at our local newsagent. So you'll have to work out whether subscription is cheaper at the present time (who can tell:confused: with the current financial issues).

Their email address is:
Greatmagazines.co.uk - Land Rover Owner (http://www.greatmagazines.co.uk/lro)

or you can contact them :

LRO, Bauer Media, Tower House, Sovereign Park, Lathkill Street, Market Harborough, Leicester, England LE169EF

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mrs Bundalene, at the current exchange rate I'll save a whole $1.25 an issue if I subscribe directly! I've asked my local newsagent if they'll get it in for me, but they have no interest in doing that :( Looks like it will be eaisest to subscribe direct.

Thanks for all the help everyone!!! :)

That's pretty sad if the newsagent won't get it in. Our newsagent is really small and doubles up as a little "country-style" supermarket/take away/deli etc. but he still gets lots of overseas mags in - if you ask for them.

A subscription is probably the best option - at least you'll be guaranteed get them.:p

I can assure you the magazine is read from cover to cover by Hubby & Son. :p

Well, I used to find I got my subscription well before the mag appeared at the local newsagent, so it's not just about the savings....

They often do discounted deals too, though no freebies for the overseas subscribers.

Yes, the overseas subscriptions arrive a lot sooner. I do not subscribe, but get them (plus Silicon Chip, Analog, and Linux Format) from the local newsagent - they put my name on them and keep them until I am in town (Dubbo). They get in about half a dozen LRO - I don't know who else gets it.

Like a few others who responded - I also get Landrover Owner International, Landrover World and Landrover Monthly each month - most months!

These are sourced through 3 different newsagencies in western Brisbane who each get in a couple of copies each month. Unfortunately, they arrive at different times each month and there must be a couple of other buyers out there, because occasionally I miss out - especially when I am travelling.

I had thought of subscribing, but the up-front cost for all 3 seemed a bit prohibitive and most months I manage to get a copy of all 3.

Whatever, they are about. Bit surpised your newsagent wont get them in for you. The distributors are easy to find, a sale is a sale, and most newsagents simply return the unsold copies at the end of each month.

Good luck anyway.

Subscribing directly for overseas mags can work out a lot cheaper than buying in the newsagents, I subscribed to a craft mag for my wife, it arrives from the US and cost less than half what the same mag cost in the newsagents.

I think I'll look into LRO for myself.

Which mag is everybody's preference?

Land Rover Owners.

Land Rover Monthly.

Land Rover Enthusiast.

I'd like all three, but at up to $16.00 each here it soon adds up to one cranky missus.:D

Land Rover Owners.

Land Rover Monthly.

Land Rover Enthusiast.

I normally look at them in the newsagents and pick the one that has something that interests me.

Too expensive to get them all.

I took up a subscription offer from one of our LROCS members who's a contributor to LR enthusiast.
they are all on a par, simiar ads, similar stories, similar size. your choice is totally individual.
it is cheaper and arrives at least 2 months before it appears on the newstands.
al of the mags do overseas subscriptions, just contact them through their websites for details

Hi Tim,

The West End Newsagency on Hay Street, West Perth definitely has it as I have bought that magazine and Land Rover Owners magazine from there before.:)

If you look in a current copy you will find the present overseas subscription rate. At the moment I am in need of some extra storage space and I am willing to sell my collection of LRO International from April 1991 to July 2006. A good offer will give you plenty of reading.
