I've got the Sony DSC-F717 , point and shoot , it's not quite the same but if it uses a the same CCD tehnology by Sony , it takes bloody good pics , it also comes equipped with an F2 Lens , The DSCH50 looks like a nice camera for sub $500 price.

The old second hand dealer rule of thumb for buying general goods at auction is:- never pay more than 1/3 of new price for new items, or more than 1/4 of new price for almost good as new used items. Adjust downwards for items less than almost good as new.

It says it's re-conditioned too. So that usually means that it has been sent back to Sony for some reason and repaired. It is now being disposed of.
There is a great site for reviews too...

"SMALL DIM DEAD PIXEL TOP LEFT OF SCREEN. NO MANUAL & SOFTWARE"
Personally I'd steer clear of it. Not that they are a bad camera, just that onesounds like it could prove lemon.

Buying a new Digi camera is so cheap now I'd stay away from auction items. Bing lee had a sony for under $100 bucks recently and when it was new it was around the $700 mark a couple of years back.
