On the way there.

Don't worry I'll post pic's of our Christmas day.

No it's there it just has more extras added to it since you were here. I think it got jealous of the roof rack and awning on the snazzy green Puma:D

Over to the far left is where you enter the main beach area, then its several kilometres on the beach and around the dunes.

Forgot to mention I almost drove in to a dug up turtle's nest. All of a sudden the beach in front was a hole the size of the front half of the Defender:eek: It was at that point I realised I'd been following Cruiser tracks along the beach and they'd been hunting. Unfortunately - especially for the turtles - certain groups up here will decimate every nest on the beach and take all the eggs, with the supposed excuse it is food. Thankfully it is not everyone who does this, but it paints a very poor picture, given it is a conservation area and access is restricted in part because it is a nesting area.

Yes I will try to get some pic's of the rack and awning this week.

Apart from being completely jealous (the last of the current snow has just been washed away by nasty weekend long rain shower)... What lens did you use for the first shot? Looks very wide - or are there a few stitched together and then cropped?

Jon, all shots are with a 24-70 f/2.8 set at 24mm.

The two wide ones are both stitched shots taken with a pano-rail and head on a tripod. The first one is 14 shots, the second 8 shots. I tend to use approx 50% overlap on panoramic shots. The use of the pano-rail on a tripod means minimal cropping as the lens is level and rotated around the nodal point so there is no paralax issue.
