Was under Grimmy on the weekend looking at ways that different Diff guards mount... when I noticed something that I couldn't make sense of and there is no mention on RAVE of it, that I can see anyway.
To the underside of the rear diff housing I have a 2 bolt bracket mounted the holds 2 x approx 80mm cylindrical weights? with a securing wire bolted to the car.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what it is?
Thanks......

I believe it is some sort of vibration elinimator, as mine hit my extractors on full compression, I took it off made absolutely no difference as far as I can see.

Some of the Lexus (plural? Lexueseseses?) have heaps of weights underneath. They look like mushrooms popping up everywhere.

vibration damper, helps to deal with the vibe from the Uj's on the propshaft that can develop due to them not being "correctly phased" (dont worry they're supposed to be that way) it also helps take out shimmy from the tyre tread but Im not so sure how much I belive that.
given the number of other things that vibrate and shake on your landie I think they're over rated except in the case of the D1 where you turf the weight but keep the mount there as its a great place to keep the spare gearbox/engine mount (which is what it is anyway)
