Our D2 (second hand) came with a towbar but I'll be stuffed if I can find any trace of a plug, so it's time to throw one on. I installed my own on my D1 by using the wiring that goes to the original but unusable plug in behind the tailgate hinges.
My question is this - is there any tips/tricks/shortcuts/cautions that I should be aware of to make the job painless? I would appreciate any help you may be able to give.
Matt.

THe plug is basically the same as on the D1. There is a pre-existing wiring loom behind the driver's side lights which the LR wiring plugs into - or you make your own connections to - and then run down through the grommet in the floor.

Be careful I am pretty sure Black is earth and white is reverse light on the Disco.
I just had the 7 round changed to 7 pin flat by Ultra Tune while in for a service. when I hooked up the boat the dash lights lit up, blown fuse!!!
I checked the connection with test light found it had been wired wrong. Black was earth and white reverse light on Land rover while white is earth and black is reverse on trailer (this is normal on most late model cars and trailers and what the intructions on the connector packet will show).
Just something to check out.

Cheers, thanks for the advice. Got it all done already though. Found the plug behind the tail light and used a test light to sus out what was what. Went quite painlessly really.
