I was trawling through the net today looking at Landies [as if you wouldn't] and spied this white RR classic '94 Vogue SE with 222100 klicks on board and with a price tag of $11900. It's at Highbury Automotive in Melbourne.

Looks absolutely pristine in all the pics. Might be a good one for someone hunting for a good classic????

Has anyone seen this car in person? I'm not going to buy. Just curious.

For that price it would want to be a soft dash LSE:D

Got one of those already Rangier Rover. However I have found an even more expensive Classic. Deacon Auto Sales, Melbourne. 1994. White, 215 kays on the clock. Asking price - $25,000. I'm not joking and I don't think he is either.

Mine is a '94 soft dash with lots of added extras including double Maxi drive lockers, coils on 2" body lift, remote cannister Bilsteins, 5 speed manual (these only came auto), Motec computer, 210 litres of fuel etc and I'm looking for $12,000,

I'm not sure what you mean RoverOne. Is yours an LSE or a 'shortie'?

Looks a 100":( If It was a LSE I would grab it. I'd stick a 4BD1T in it later on. You have got me thinking though as I havn't built my 89 up yet:confused:
The 94 LSE soft dash would be the nicest Rover ever made in my eyes.
So think I should wait till one comes up as need the room for my kids as they are growing up.
Cheers Tony

go back to your original question re value for vogue SE,

I was trawling through the net today looking at Landies [as if you wouldn't] and spied this white RR classic '94 Vogue SE with 222100 klicks on board and with a price tag of $11900. It's at Highbury Automotive in Melbourne.

Now my response was

and mine only has 196,000km & a Vogue Se, no mention of "LSE", to compare to what you saw in add, I think my reply self explanatory, hope I don't have to go and explain more ;)

To pomonastik, $5000 would buy my winch "n' bar & Maxi drives 2nd hand if I stripped it and some. When the front maxi drive was fitted it cost $4300 as its ABS.

BTW it's got six 8" wheels n tyres I've already been offered $1500 exchange, tyres done 1600km.

I also have the original factory "Classic" mags with BFG A/T tyres x5 with legal tread.

Well hello RoverOne. That is a haughty reply to what was a friendly and reasonable question. It would appear some of us simpletons don’t possess your advanced intuitive capabilities when reading other peoples posts nor is everyone familiar with your background [857 posts]. A simple “It’s a Vogue Se” response would have sufficed. But thank you for enlightening us.

shall we see what the market says ?

Range Rover Vogue SSE Classic VGC DUAL FUEL - eBay, Wholesale, Bulk Lots, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 30-Dec-08 15:01:39 AEDST) (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120352661137)

ok, so it might need a new motor. we'll factor say, $2.5k, in on top of the final sale price to establish what late model RRCs are actually worth........

Well, if he is selling it unregistered with a dismantled and damaged engine, I would venture that it will fetch wrecking or project value only. At auction may fetch $3000 on a good day.

The more complex later model RR's are not popular with the used car trade. Dealers have to give warranty and warranty insurers are well aware of the potential costs of repairs to these. Although few dealers would be interested in a car this old.

my point exactly, so the dealer tucked up with the first vehicle mentioned probably knows its a buyer's market and will take what he can get not to have to look at it on his forecourt anymore. i bet he needs the cash back out of it pretty damn badly just at the moment.......

The SSE was actually advertised in the markets section on this forum, but was changed to SOLD and has since been removed, think from memory he had $3250 on it, but the head gasket had blown and the motor had been pulled apart.

I went and looked at it, looked very neat and tidy. As far as the SSE component the only real difference that I could see was the body and spoiler kit which was fitted. Not much use if you want to use it offroad as I think they would be expensive to replace. As he mentions the air suspension has been replaced with coils. I think the value he had in the add was the price he could get if he parted it out.

It would have to be sold unregistered as the motor is dismantled.

It sold for $4365.00:eek: and will still need the motor to be re-assembled with new head gaskets etc

it'd be ironic if the buyer saw it on here ! so the original car mentioned would be worth about $7k? but there's one less buyer in the market since the ebay one sold so i'd sweat the dealer another grand off that 'cos its a shrinking market. :D
