Are there any others that have had a blown turbo? I searched today while getting mine replaced but came up with very little. Last week I had the head gasket done. My mechanic remarked there has been a couple of returns out of 25 this year with a blown turbo shortly after the head work. Particular attention was paid to feeding the turbo oil before start up last week.
Mine has done around 130 thousand kays - Any others that have had theirs gone & what is the expected mileage from one?

i wouldn't no the life of a turbo, i would say around the 3 maby 400,000km mark, an we have cars that are getting close to that kms an there turbos are fine, but when we do head gaskets we take great care to make shore the turbo has oil before we start the cars, an dump the oil an filter strat away after, never had one come back,

Hmm, there was no mention of dumping the oil straight after & no charge for a new filter. Would that be enough of an oversight to stuff it I wonder.
