Get Smart and Fargo

Well, last night I felt like watching T.V but nothing was on so I hopped up to the video store in search of Fargo and Get Smart.

Everyone I knew said Get Smart was a good movie and I loved the T.V. series but I did not have high hopes. I thought the movie was boring and should not of been made. Am I the only one who thinks that?
I really like Steve Carrell and watch The Office simply to see him be a fool and make me laugh and I can't imagine a better actor for Max but I didn't think even he pulled it off.


The other movie was Fargo. I had been told many times to get it out and I was looking really forward to it. I'm not going to say it was a great movie but I did really enjoy it. And it had some funny characters in it. I did get a bit confused with the plot at the end but I went back and watched it and it made sense (i think).

So Views? harrasment about my poor taste in films?

I have two more films to watch being the bank job and the Alexandar project. I have already seen the Alexandar project and had many people walk out of the cinema but due to my line of work I found it extremely interesting.

I liked Alexandra's Project a lot. Very different. Not always comfortable viewing, but interesting for sure.

Try "Burn After Reading", another Cohen Bros film if you liked Fargo. Excellent cast (Clooney/Pitt/the lady from Fargo).

It was bad, you could tell when lines from the old TV show were going to happen before they did, very predictable, we have also seen Bruce and Lloyd out of Control, it's a spinoff of using the bumbling tech dudes from Get Smart, we had quite a few laughs.

I have had Who Killed the Electric Car sitting here for a couple of months, have to watch it someday.

I watched Fargo (for the third or fourth time) just a couple of nights ago.

I love it.

Anything by the Coen brothers appeals to me. I like the fact that they seem to have a style of their own so that even though there are significant differences between "Fargo", "O Brother, Where Art Thou" and "No Country for Old Men", it is obvious they are the work of the Coen brothers.

I wasn't overly impressed with no country for old men. Everyone I know enjoyed it though. I don't think I had any understanding of the style of how they work though so I might watch it again and see if I can settle in to it.

The mutt- I thought that electric car flick was pretty interesting. Who knows what is true but I enjoy a bit of a conspiracy:)

I thought No Country for Old Men was a bit violent and heavy a lot like the current batch of American crime shows on TV, when I sit down to watch something I'm looking for entertainment, an escape from reality, a good who-dunnit, or sci-fi or comedy, thou movies like Vantage Point are good, while there is violence in this movie, it worked.

While I've yet to see the new The Day the Earth Stood Still, I enjoyed the original, by the trailers the new movie has a very dark side.

Some movies should'nt be remade.

I'll look out for Fargo.
