Has anyone ordered sides steps from these guys?, how did it go?

Direct4x4 Side Steps (http://www.direct4x4.co.uk/start.php?p=view_product.php&product_id=791)

I'm thinking about it as the original LR steps is staggering $1300Au, fitting extra.

Thanks

What's the freight quote ?

Just had a look now, doensn't seem feasible, they don't post here. Oh well, have to keep searching then, the ones I've seen sourced locally are a bit bulky to me, looking for something a bit streamlined and not sticking out there.

Phone them and ask.
Some will bother, whilst others won't ...... I've found there's no guessing
who will ship out here.
....... or you could just stand on the sills ;)

Ring these people and ask for
a quote.

Sheckster,

Try a PM to gghaggis. He makes some sidesteps come sliders among other bits and pieces for the D3.

Cheers,

You could always ask one of your fellow Aulroians who are in the U.K. to see if they'd lend a hand in getting them to you:o

Ive seen some on defenders at Triumph Rover spares at Lonsdale in adelaide very recently. (that is the actual flip up steps) I was interested but got a pair of side runers there a couple of years ago.

Got a Milford cargo barrier the other day from them, $250, and had the pleasure of gettin git out myself !

Email Triumph, they don't have any at the moment. Emailed Duckworth too, waiting for a reply. Anyone dealt with Rovacraft (http://www.rovacraft.com.au) before?, looks like they might have them, emailed them too.

I bought my Mantec Plate from Rovacraft.
They're a first rate bunch ...... freight to Cairns was
only $36 on a 12kg 120x50x12cm box :)

They got it from the UK just for me , and for less than I
could arrange it for myself !

They quoted me same as dealer for the side steps. Although they mentioned this other side runners which is cheaper and I think looks neater.

They look good and don't stick out as much as factory fit ,which are
too wide IMO.
Have you got front mud flaps ..... will be necessary to keep the
boards cleaner.

Rova just got back to me, they said width same as original (120mm), sounds pretty good to me and cheaper too :D

Are the fittings the same as Factory job ie. drill some holes in the
plastic sill cover, or does it just have brackets onto the frame as other
generic sills ?

Rova says it is copy of a genuine set, comes with paper templates and all fittings needed to fit.

:D:D:D I wish, have to convince and make a case with the wife. TJM has one too but I just don't like the look of it and it sticks out too much for my liking, problem is my wife knows that the TJM costs only $400. Have to save my lunch money from now on :p

I live a seperate financial life :)
....... but I do appreciate your situation Sheckster.

The TJM rails are horrible ........ start with " do you want to
look at THEM every day" ........ and follow with some "style" comments
