Hi all, Ben just rang me to say he has a slipping clutch. I have a LT85 friction plate here, can anyone help with the pressure plate and thrust brg etc? (I'm in a bind aswell as I am closing tomorrow and having a break with the family for 10days or so, I would like to drive to Queenstown and trailer it back here and fit the clutch etc etc but it might be more than my family could bear at the moment:( They hardly see me as it is:o)
SOOOO, if anyone can help with the rest of the clutch parts, PM me and I can organise Ben to collect/ get them to him and he'll either try and fit them here, or do the job over in Melbourne after the 4th of Jan.

If you cant get a new pressure plate, I have a good used turbo pressure plate. I am in Mackay, so would need to get it down to you.... I also have a new thrust bearing, but only a LT95 clutch plate........ Brian

Hi Brian,
Thanks, Ben has left me to procure the necessary parts for him as he is in coastal Tas areas for a while out of contact., so this used turbo spec one would be better than a new standard one. Is there a possibility of sending it to a VIC address after the 26th? Express / overnight post would be preferrable, I'll look up next day delivery postal codes of people I know. There isn't much chance of getting one this time of year from my usual suppliers:(
PM me if you like,
JC

Hi Guys!!! We are currently in Hobart. Met up with JC Yesterday - what a nice bloke and I owe him heaps for sorting all this out. Also Bearman and Matt!!!
Thanks guys!!! We are having a fantastic time here. Just met up with Offender90 today. The county is going like a train - despite almost drowning it on the montezuma falls track (funnily enough it was shortly after when the clutch started to have issues...
Clutch is still holding...

Dont envy you doing that job after a big night. At least you have the right gear to get it done. Hope everything goes ok. I am taking it easy today, had a late night or should I say early morning. Regards...Brian

Ben came on the 3rd, checked over the county, he decided he'd see how the clutch went and headed off in the morn, He sent me a text last night saying they were in Clare SA and all is holding up well:)
I'd of been scared but, it was slipping pretty good:eek:

We made it home!!! Uneventfully! The only issues were a couple of oil leaks (fixing a blocked axle breather at Matt's didn't sort the hub leak...).
A HUGE thanks to JC, Brian and Matt!!! I owe you guys big time!
I wouldn't have driven home without replacing the clutch it if I hadn't had all the clutch parts though. Brian - the pressure plate looks like a brand new one - will be fitting it soon.
Funnily enough, the clutch got better across the nullarbor. It barely slips now - strange...
EDIT - oh and Matt - your dad has good taste in beer. And your workshop is awesome - I need to work out how to put a hoist in my shed now...

Forgot to add,
It was great to meet JC and Matt for the first time. JC went out of the way to get all the parts together - while he was on holiday!!!
The AULROians in that corner of OZ are certainly a great bunch!!!

It was the first big roo (and Eastern Grey) they had seen all trip - across they nullarbor they are stunted - like the vegetation!!!, and tassie only has wallabies... (so not much taller than JC ;) ). JC - yeah it was a shame we didn't get down your way a day earlier for the 4x4 trip... Next time for sure!
