Need to buy myself a present which 450D Kit

Hi,

my Canon S45 is broken (lens slider cap doesn't cause the lens to retract) Can still use the camera but have to keep pulling the battery out. Looking to upgrade into the DSLR world.
Been doing a bit of reading and I thought Engel and Waeco was a mind field.... On the camera front I'm pretty well decided I'll get a 450D. Only issue I have now is which lens kit ... just using Ted's as a reference to whats out there.. I can get

With Canon EFS 18-55mm Image Stabiliser Zoom and Tamron AF55-200mm Zoom
With Canon EFS 18-55mm IS & Canon EF 75-300mm Zoom

But seriously, I would suggest Canon EFS 18-55mm IS & Canon EF 75-300mm Zoom as I believe the 75-300 is a better lens than the Tamron. That said the 18-200 may also be OK if its as good as the Nikon equivalent, I just know nothing about it though.

You may need to give us a bit more info as to what you want to do with them. If it is for family photos outdoors in good light most lenses will do you.
I got the above lenses when I bought my last camera. I also have a few L lenses. If you are keen I would save the money and get a single lense to get by with until I could get the money and get some L lenses they are much sharper and brighter.
