Posties working overtime?

I was waiting for a couple of last-minute mail today. Nothing.
10pm a gentle knock on the door. Both packages left on my doorstep.

Looks like posties were working overtime tonight. That's service for ya.

Anyways. Too much Bundy, not enough sleep.

My wife comes from a country town and they never delivered the mail of a weekend.

Anyway, my wife likes to sleep in of a weekend and the first year we lived back in the big smoke, the postie delivered the mail at about 11 am on the Sunday before Christmas.

The sound of the postie woke my wife and when she came out of the bedroom, she asked, with a strange look on her face, what day was it as she had just heard the postie.

Now not being one to pass up a good opportunity I told her it was the postie and it was Monday morning, which for a short time, she believed and could not believe she had slept right through Sunday.

Christmas come early, Ho Ho Ho.
