Here she is, probably the worst condition isuzu rrc one will see, possibly one of the first conversions though. It's a 78 rangie converted about 20 years ago and owned by the last owner and his brother for much of that time. The engine seems to start first kick but is a bit smokey until warmed up, I'll get JC to check it over. The lt95 changes perfectly and has only a couple of oil weeps not leaks, which puts my 81 rrc to shame. Has a ramsey 8000 winch which works perfectly and a huge custom made fuel tank. The brakes don't work the interior is stuffed, most has gone to the tip. All suspension bushes stuffed. All panels stuffed. Rust in some of the door pillars. But.... that engine, I love it. :D Spent a bit of xmas day driving around in our sheep paddock. Idling over drains, putting around, giving it a bit. I couldn't get enough. I thought I had the landy bug under control, but this isuzu thing has changed everything. I hope my partner understands. :o:D
Oh, can anyone guess the dogs name.

And this is my 83 that has stuffed 3.5. So the plan is to make a reasonably good one. But the question is, change engine etc or change panel etc?

Underneath all that rust and oil lies a factory 4BD1T, probably 87-88 vintage.
Good score.:)

Let me guess, you called the Westy Snowy?

Fantastic Pete!

But Who Would let it go to that state:mad::mad:??

I would definately fit the running gear across to the '83. It is very easy actually and do a 2" BL at the same time to fit that inlet pipe over the top of the motor and not so close to the firewall:o

I can do the engine mount swap into the '83 if you like...

:):):)

If the other half gets upset, Blame me:p. I shouldn't have let you drive mine that day, I knew when you felt that awesome off-idle torque that you had been bitten:twisted::twisted:

I've got drawings to mount a 4BD1T to the V8 engine mounts. But I don't have a body lift so my engine sits a bit lower than most.

Hell yeah Pete, get the good panels voer to the old chasis, or vise versa. Either way it will make one good isuzu Rover. The question now is, what will you do with it, will it be the replacement for the Disco, or will it be a project to sell off later?

Ill catch up with you soon to check it out personally :)
