Does anyone know how to get one of these - without the whole shaft...mine is split. Rover think it is acceptable to sell the little rubber cover (worth what $5 to manufacture) with the whole shaft (and joint too probably)....nice.

Cheers

The boot over the sliding joint?

The D1 rear is STC2955 (about $5)
The D2 rear is TVE100000 (about $30)

Those part numbers appear model dependent so a bit more info would help.

Sorry fellas - front prop shaft rubber to cover the spline from the uni joints - series II Disco V8 Manual.

Cheers

PS. Where is the best place to source the part from in Brisbane?

On your car, the rear gaitor is the same as the front one so you need TVE100000.

I can't help with where to get one locally though. Any LR dealer can get one overnight though (if you order it today at least). Full retail is around $35 from a dealer.

BTW, was it a dealer who told you the gaitor is not sold separately?
I found the part details easily enough so a dealer would be able to find it too.

Thanks fellas. It was Austral that supplied me with the supposed correct part - $35 from them, but it was too small and it looks like the one for the front of the tailshaft not the front of the propshaft. They have acknowledged that they got it wrong, but say that the front gator can only be obtained aftermarket and that the whole propshaft is the only way to get it from them!

I will try MR.

Cheers again
