With the temporary absence of Outerlimits web site ( back soon I hope ), I was just wondering what sites others frequent.

Needless to say, AULRO has got to be the top site but I regularly visit a number of good Aussie sites that can be pretty interesting, even if there not LR oriented.

I find the crew at Australia4WD a friendly bunch.

Australia4WD The Four Wheel Drive and Camper Trailer Resource (http://forum.australia4wd.com/index.php)

d2au are also a friendly bunch but unfortunately, the site doesn’t get the number of visitors it should.

The Kombiclub web site is another good site and for those planning their trip to Cape York, might pay you to go over to the Kombiclub site and ask some questions there as a number of Kombis did the trip in the middle of this year.

They have a good DVD of the trip.

Kombi Club Forums - Powered by vBulletin (http://forums.kombiclub.com/)

Although I don’t spend to much time there, the PATROL 4X4 site also has a good crew.

Patrol 4x4 - Nissan Patrol Forum (http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/)

The Pathfinder’s web site is another handy site.

PCoA • Index page (http://www.pcoa.org.au/forum/)

An old one but a good one is Overland.

Overlander 4WD :: Index (http://forums.overlander.com.au/)

4X4EARTH seems to be a new site but still a good bunch.

4x4 Earth - Powered by vBulletin (http://www.4x4earth.com.au/forum/)

If your into fishing the Ausfish site is a good one.

Australian Fishing Community Chatboards - Fishing Forums (http://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/)

I found the Woodwork Forum one of the most interesting non 4x4 sites I’ve come across, for info on any handyman work you might want to do and they have a section on 4x4s

Woodwork Forums - Powered by vBulletin (http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/)

If you have a Jayco then the Jayco forum is a must see site. Good for loads of discussions about all things Jayco and is well supported by Jayco.

I don’t know about the rest of you but over the last year or so, I have found EO site has just lost it’s value. I use to spend nearly as much time there as I did here but of late, I don’t think I go there once a month.

What sites do the rest of you visit

Outerlimits

D2Au <- Must join for all of you Discovery2 owners! This group is exceptionally knowledgable in all aspects of Disco2's and there is not a finer bunch of people you will ever meet.(Email and/or Web based)
d2au : d2au (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/d2au/) <--- Web
d2au-subscribe@yahoogroups.com <--- Email

Pirate4x4 (US)
Hare core and extreme 4x4 - highest level tech, where the gurus hang out, pedantic about accuracy and quality - they 've done it, broken it and reengineered before you've thought about it. This is engineering and fabrication central, not bolt on kit or 2" lifts.
Pirate4x4.Com - The largest off roading website in the world. (http://www.pirate4x4.com/)

Hi olbob, not really the sort of site I was referring to and I think you need to post an adults only warning on that one.

My 3 musts for the day are AULRO, OuterLimits and AMTRA www.amtra.com.au (http://www.amtra.com.au) (I am currently President of that club and a Life member)
I also check out the newspapers, Australian 4wd Action, Dirt Bike World and the Rover section on Ebay.

Now there’s an irony, amtravic1, while you are a life member of amtra and visit 4wd Action, I’ll go visit your amtra site and I have a life time ban from 4wd Actin’s web site.

Irony, what!

Well, long story short, there is a moderator on there that likes to push products for his mates.

Not a problem there.

But to do so, he lies through his back teeth about other similar competitor’s products, posting nothing short off out and out lies about them, as a means to make his mates products look better than what they really are.

On a number of occasions, he has belittled solenoid type dual battery controllers because one of his mates sells Mosfet types of controllers.

Now I don’t mind some fair and honest criticism but when the criticism is nothing more than a total fabrication, as many as you may know, I tend to fight back.

On this one occasion I was actually very courteous in the manor in which I called him a liar ( RIGHT )

Anyway, I have a life time ban imposed on me so I can’t show other members on that site, what a liar this moderator really is.

I’m sure as hell am not loosing any sleep over it.

Yes, sorry about that. I was more concerned about answering the question.
When we were activally involved with ours and foster kids there was no internet, so I forgot who might be looking at our forum.
Thinking about it, it's actually been years since I spoke to a kid !
Comes from not socialising, I guess.
Cheers.
Happy New Year.
