I need some advice I am trying to replace the 2 pinion diff in the front of my Stage 1 with a 4 pinion diff.
I can get an ex army hemisphere part no FRC8625 but Im not sure if this carrier is for a 6x6 which means it will be for a 4.7.
I need a carrier for a 3.54 does anyone know if you can machine the 4.7 carrier to accept the 3.54 crown wheel??
Or should I just buy a Jack Mac centre

Thanks
Looks like if I machine 3/16 of an inch from the carrier it should work
Suspicious if Mal was suggesting it wasnt a good idea.
Maybe Ill just buy a Jack Mac

I see a post back in August indicating you had a 4 pinion 10 spline for sale is this still true??

That's correct:)

He also has a 3.9L rover motor from me:D

He's a joy to deal with.............but I hate packing for him, it must be a rough ride:eek:

Could you fit a Truetrac LSD? Might be better value for money.

FRC8187 is the differential case (4 pinion) for the 4X4 3.54 ratio diff. That will be a 6X6 4.7 ratio one that you have. Rather than machine the carrier and possibly weaken it I would have the crown wheel machined. From memory I think you have to machine 3/16 inch off. It wont weaken the crown wheel as there is plenty of meat on it. I have a 4 pinion one in my front diff and they are much better than the 2 pinion ones especially if you put the 24 spline axles in as well
