Conversion kit for a Holden 186 engine into a landy. The landy engine a six cylinder series 111 1974.I also have another engine spare. I will pay for the kit the postage and any other expense incurred. If anyone is interested in doing a swop of both engines for a conversion kit that would be perfect if not I will consider selling both the engines once I get a kit.
The kit consists of
Adaptor plate
Flywheel
Engine mounts
Clutch mount

Mine is still in the car, but Ron might.

Try the supplier listed above, or buy a ratty old landy with a Holden conversion and rip it out yourself and flog the car again.

The guy who said the world is a small place had never tried getting any kind of engine parts in SA ... <snip>Not altogether true, Triumph Rover Spares (http://www.triumphroverspares.com.au/) in Lonsdale SA is one of the major coil spring Land Rover engine parts suppliers in Australia. I would say the majority of 4.6 engines transplanted into other vehicles come from TR Spares.

That's the catch isn't it! We all want a vehicle that will do what we want it to do and do it reliably, but then there's the cost of the parts and maintenance for it.

I recently spent on maintenance at least 3 times what I would get if I sold my RRc. This included new shocks, suspension bushes and a major engine service (plus cleaning the plenum and a new valley gasket). Even though some would say it wasn't value for money, my reply is that it gives me a reliable vehicle, capable on and off road and at a fraction of the cost of buying new and if I keep it up perhaps I will get another 20 years out of it.

Sometimes I wonder if the people who cry that LR or Holden engines in LR are unreliable are the same people who run their worn out maintenance free vehicles into the ground. Then complain about it.

I agree with what your saying. I want a 186 engine because i can strip and re-build on road side and parts are never a problem as for maintenance i change the oil 5000km on all my motors. 32 motor bikes a 500cc trike, 500cc Quad 7 go carts a speedway outfit four cars two them rovers. if i payed new money for all my parts i would have been skint years ago.
