View Full Version : Love my Dremmel!!!

The switch panel on the right hand side of the steering wheel was looking a bit worse for wear so I decided to whip up a new one.

I grabbed a piece of 50mm aluminium strip, shaved off the corners, polished the surface and cut out some holes, all with the Dremmel.

I think the result looks pretty good, if I do say so myself!! :)

Very handy tool, I'd like to grab one but I'm not spending a cent until 2035:D.

I bet they'd work well to do a neat camel cut on a disco.

Excellent tool and yes they are very good for doing a Camel Cut on the Disco. That's how I did my D1:D

blow doing a camel cut with a dremel...... you'd go through discs by the dozen!

When i did the camel cut a few years back i used a dremmel and only 3 discs.... its more accurate than a 6" grinder...

back to sleep now......

AS Clarkie mentioned much more accurate. Also less to clean up as a very fine cut and from memory I used 3 disks too (it was nearly 10 years ago)

Pardon the ignorance but whats a Dremel? is it some sort of mini grinder?

Yep.:D But has a lot of other mini attachments such as polishing discs, sanding drums and discs, grinding stones, drill bits, diamond hones etc and you can also use a flexible extension head for getting into yight places. Dremel is the type but there are many more such as Ryobi, Bosch etc around but the Dremel is the cream of the crop, but the price goes with it (from memory a Dremel is about $110 with no accessories), the Ryobi I got was $58 with a complete accessory kit.

It is a small hand held power tool similar to a die grinder. Dremel are good quality but basically a hobbyists tool, not an industrial one. The price is high in accordance with the perception of the brand name. Air die grinders are miles better but you do need a high volume compressor to run a good one continuously.
