I have a CB radio in my Range rover and i want to to put it into the Discovery i have no troubles mounting the aerial as i have a bar to put that on and i know where to run the wiring, but once iv done that i don't know where i should mount the Radio its self.
All suggestions are welcomed!
Cheers, James.

I have the slim line GME UHF and made a custom panel which houses it, and the power window switches in the centre console (next to the handbrake)

G'day James,
In my Disco II, I bent up a piece of aluminium to use as an overhead mount - I used the original screw holes in the over head console to secure it like this: ( just need longer screws)

Only downside was the mic. jumping of and belting the missus on rough climbs.. :p
Also can be hard to read the display up there.
On my current Disco II I have remote head style mounted on the centre console. Main unit is under the passenger seat.

I was thinking of doing this as i already have an electric trailer brake unit set up there or, I was thinking i might put the unit on the drivers side of the console by screwing a couple of holes in the plastic.

Mine is in the exact same place also. No probs either.
I mounted the main unit to the inside of the panel below the steering wheel with heavy duty velcro and its still rock solid too.

I was having a look at my CB Radio today and it is a "UNIDEN" 40 Channel, and from what i can see the display can not be separated like you guys have done. I have used pre screwed holes just under the clock near the steering wheel to place the bracket to hold the hand set this was easy enough but now i am wondering if i should just place the main unit on the out side of the fuse box?
It wont look as clean as i was hopeing but it should work and thats the main part! :)

Well plans for tomorrow are to put the aerial on get the wireing worked out and make up a brakcet to attach the Unit to the out side of the Fuse cover on the left side. I am hope this will all work out without to many dramas.
Im guessing tomorrow will be more of a day of finding out what doesnt work rather then if it all works
And i hope to get it all sorted ready for the trip on the dunes. Just hope the weather holds out tomorrow!
James.
