Gday

Had a talk to the fella I bought me latest Defender off. He told me that in Tassie we have a lower quality diesel; compared to the mainland. And that I should run a diesel additive to counter act any bad effects.

So I was just wondering, what to use? Is one better than another or are they all pretty much the same?

Thanks

I use Liqui Moly "anti knock plus" because it carries TUV approval, and if it didn't work properly no way would the TUV give their approval, or so my theory goes:D. And it does seem to work very well compared to others I've given a run.

$14 per fill of diesel, so I do it every now and then.

LIQUI-MOLY Fuel and Oil Treatments & Additives (http://www.liqui-moly.com.au/product3.htm)

The range has been cut back but there was product called "Diesel schmier additiv" which was good if you had lubricity issues with radial injection pumps.

I've read a lot of people recommending the Chemtech additive

I also prime after a fuel filter change (but before an oil change!!) using diesel purge.

Again it works.

Yer i have tried a few and Chemtech was the only one that made a noticeable difference in the amount of smoke the fender blew and gave me slightly better fuel economy.

Just wondering why? I haven't got the first idea if it's the case, but I'd imagine that all of your diesel is imported from the mainland and is much the same as anyone else gets.

Oh, I geddit, the 'Tasmanian additive'.

You're right, it is different.

By the sounds of it Ill run some of this Liqui Moly stuff through then see what goes; and give the Chemtech stuff a run as well

Thanks for the replies fellas
