Our Eurovox CD player has started not ejecting the CD's all the way out. They finish up ever so close but don't make it right out.

Has anyone been here and can help with an answer?

Thanks, Erich.

This seems to happen when the head unit gets dust in them.

I had a few head units go through the car under warranty, but in the end fixed it with a Sony unit that is designed to keep the dust out. No probs since then.

I've never opened it up to clean the rollers though which I think may be the problem - which is no real help to you.

Once a CD unit stops ejecting the only way to get anything out (f it hasn't got a manual eject hole to shove a paper clip in) is to pull it part. I suspect as mentioned the mechanism is gummed up, but it could be the springs are worn out too.

I agree with Slunnie. Its almost bound to be dust. My Alpine Head Unit sucumbed to dust about half way through our trip north last year. The CD is still in there!

Luckily it has 170 tracks on it.

I did partially strip it at the time, and try and blow out all the dust but it hasn't fixed it.

To make it worse mine has the motorised front panel (although that still works ok)

I'll have a go at repairing it - at the end of the day it doesn't really matter if I wreck it as it will only get worse without doing anything.

Thanks, Erich

Hi Erich, mine does that sometimes and I've found that if I press and hold the eject button it comes out properly.

Are you referring to the 10 CD stacker unit under the seat ?

Mine did not eject the CDs properly - I did take it apart and tried to adjust the mechanism with not much effect - i think it's a matter of the tolerances going our over time due to wear.

- and then it got drowndeded on a river crossing - so now I just use an ipod and an fm transmitter.
