don't ever loose ur key blades

Well yesterday was my worst day ever,i got to work and every thing was fine until i relised the blade of my d2 key had fallen out ,well f,,,,me i looked every were high and low at one stage i was on my kneez sifting through sand in desperation i phoned my dad to check my spare that came with the 2000landy but only to find that ,that too had no bloody blade either so now you can imagine the panic,well i contacted southern landrover here in perth and they gave me a key code that was only for my car and suggested using a1 locksmiths so i grabed a work ute when no one was watching and drove to the otherside of town picked up a key drove back only to find that it fitted the ingition but would'nt turn...:eek::twisted: so i then contacted s/landrover again and they suggested for me to get the car to them a.s.a.p so i then had to get aflat bed tow truck...:twisted:by this timei was ready to end my life....:twisted:$95 filtered out of my wallet for that then they had to use a d1 key blade as there was no d2 blades in stock and also take my ingision barrel out and send it of to a locksmiths 5hrs later huuuuuray and a total of $350 i was able to drive home .......:)SO HOW WAS UR FIRST DAY BACK AT WORK:twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted:

moral of the story is superglue your d2 keyblade in place?? In that time I would've hotwired mine and defeated the steering lock :angel:. or call RAC and get it towed to landrover..then bendover for the bill I guess.

Did you make sure you got a spare made? If not do it tomorrow!

they only had one key in stock but i did order another:confused::)

Hi, I have an extra spare key blade cut on a standard key blank that is coded NE38, (Its branded "Silca Italy") Had it cut by a professional locksmith, it took him two attempts to get it right; they are apparently easy to get a little bit misaligned when cutting. I carry the extra spare key and the Emergency Key Access Code for my D2 in my wallet. If you don't have that particular code go and see your local stealer.

i got the code from southern landrover and gave it to a locksmith and he too cut the same key as urs but it fitted the ingision but could'nt turn it and when i finerly got a key cut that worked i compared it and it was completly differant but thanks anyway

Just to clarify, the Emergency Key Access Code is used to open the door through a sequence of key turns and allows you to start the car (within 30 seconds) without the electronic key unit, it is different to the actual key number that is meant to be used to cut a new key.

Having the EKA code wouldnt have helped Boss in this instance but serves as a good reminder for all those other D2 key fob worriers (including me) that when the electrickery fob bit fails, having the EKA code handy will still get you in the car by multiple twists of the key in the door lock to match the number of the EKA.

Then off you go on your merry way (providing you have a working key blade);)

If you dont have the EKA, you need to ask a Dealer.

my first day back this week i spent 5 hours chaining huge freaking rocks out of a blocked jaw crusher the lightest one would have been around 300kg's all this on a 30 dergree day twas not fun
