About 2 months ago the flexi joint of my exhaust absolutely obliterated itself so off I went to 1) Carline - and was told $275 including fitting and I walked out, so went to 2) the little local bloke and he did it for $95, much happier! But whilst it was on the hoist he showed me the multitude of tiny holes and general wear and tear of it being the original exhaust some 12 years old, and agreed that it really should be replaced...
Went back yesterday to be quoted, they said up until the flange after the felxi is fine, they will open it up to 2.5" after that, put in a straight through muffler in place of the middle and whatever they feel most suitable at the back. I opted against mandrel bending - too expensive and bugger all gain anyway...
I have a feeling they may have have quoted a little too much (originally 450, i said too expensive, so they said 350)... so wise AULRO-ians, is this a fair price for work described?
