Is there anyone here with any "inside" knowledge of Telstra's phone number allocation process who can help me?
I am in the process of moving and need to hold a couple of new phone numbers to activate when I get the new phone on. I have done this before (last year in fact) where Telstra Business were able to help me select and hold some logical sounding numbers for my phone and fax. The numbers remained parked on my home phone account (at a cost) before I got one cut-over to another provider and the other put on a fax line.
Now I know I cannot take my existing landline and fax number to the new location as it is on a different exchange. But I just want to select two reasonably easy to remember numbers for the land line and fax. I know the new prefix I have to have so it is only the last 4 digits I need to choose.
Last time I did this the lady in Telstra Business said something like "we have more numbers to choose from than the home phone section" - and they did. I got a huge selection. Talking with someone in home phones today, they were struggling to even get anything with any doubles... and it's not a heavily populated area.
