G'day All,
Well I finally went with a Rhino Roof Rack and Luggage Carrier. Even done it meself :D and for those that know me...thats an achievement. Here is Stevo's useless as tits tutorial ...
Okkkay a few bits and pieces, so lay them out and have a squizz at instructions.
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2009/01/1188.jpg
Next put together and get one rack up and see how she looks
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2009/01/1189.jpg
Lookin good so lets go for gold and put up all 3 :)
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2009/01/1190.jpg
Anyone lost on the tute yet?? :)
Wind forward quite a few hrs of measuring, moving, sweating my ass off in boiling heat and do a test panel of the carrier:
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2009/01/1191.jpg
That done, getting late and beer oclock has hit...take inside and complete carrier in front of telly as SWMBO tries to watch fave program, whilst numnuts plays mechano..
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2009/01/1192.jpg
That done, up today to finish the job, get the rack up, more moving, measuring and then securing and voila...roof rack porn
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2009/01/1193.jpg
Grrrrrrrrr
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2009/01/788.jpg
Oooh mammy
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2011/01/1267.jpg
So rack is ready for Oztent that has been ordered and other things it will be useful for...like prams, cots and stuff especially when all 7 seats are full.
Next on the agenda:

Don't worry folks, I've got professionals helping on that one.....then I can get my tyres :),

Top job Stevo. I would have got about as far as "beer-o-clock". Beer o clock came early too as it was so hot, plus a smidge of frustration with some of my measurements . I'm pretty happy with it and can't wait to try it out. 95% sure of going on my first off road camping trek up north with 3 of my brats, so trying to get Smokey ready in time,

How was the clearence between the base of the front bar mount and the top of the front door? I found that when I mounted mine, both front doors rubbed on the bottom of this mount when opening them, so had to mount it almost directly above the b pillar.
Matt.

And I'm pretty sure he's already proved he can carry a six-pack without breaking it, so the suspension's okay.

Steve, I was referring in passing to my roof rack thread about the Hannibal Safari rack and awning I just fitted. Rhino and others make them and they just clamp on the side for (almost) instant shade.
