it's the brass switch about 50mm to the rear of the diff lock stud, slacken off the locknut and turn the switch in 1/2 a turn,

Kelvin, check the wiring circuit first by unplugging the two switch wires from the CDL and connecting them together . This is essentially simylating the switch sending voltage to the BCU. If the dash LED stays on, you know the circuit is good. Dave has suggested the next troubleshooting step. I'd unscrew the switch totally and clean out the spring loaded plunger.

yeah thanks did that all good will be doing Dave's suggestion next hopefully it works ,it just seems like a loose connection tho i go over bumps and the cdl dash light flashes on and off guess i am gonna have to chase the wires all the way

The switch wires are part of the gearbox wiring harness under the vehicle. You will find the harness exits through the floor above the rear of the transfer case. This harness connects to the harness in the centre console (C761 & C552 on attacjed picture). Maybe one of these are loose?

I thought I did the setting right for off/on with the switch only to find a few hours into the journey the light started to come on = panic. Ended up taking off the wire until back home after a few more 1,000k's. Basically I came to the conclusion that some of us might set it to close to the closing contact stage so reset right back and all good of course.Just to share the joy and pain.
