View Full Version : Hoons get what they deserve

I see some hoons finally got what they deserved, up in Brisvagas yesterday, when a neighbour, after a year of being harassed by some hoons, took pot shots at the hoons and their cars.
Now while the law has done nothing to the hoons over the past 12 months, watch as it now puts the neighbour through hell.

Yep,
the neighbour is an easier problem to deal with so you can bet your bottom dollar they will come down on him hard. The hoons, well they will just keep hooning. One major problem with our justice system is that the only people it really hurts are the people who generally try to obey the law.
The ones that don't try to obey it couldn't care less when they get caught. Go figure ..... as they say ... 'the law's an ass'
Oh, and i bet the Judge will not have a bar of hearing how frustrated the guy was prior to doing what he did, but if he had a drug habit or a 'hard life', well then the Judge would probably give him a hug ........

Yeah, I know to what a blue rinse refers but I can't see the relevance to Drivesafe's post. Only Dobbo can.

Could be implying that you're getting old.
That's the way I read it. Mind you, if I HAD hair, I'd probably fit the same bracket.:D

This post has gone a bit off topic but I agree with drivesafe, the cops will come down like a ton bricks on the frustrated gun owner.
Someone I know has just recently had an altercation with a neighbour because his dog constantly harasses other (locked up) dogs and cats in the neighbourhood after they just let the dog out to roam.
It chased a little cat up a tree and it had to be rescued from about 40' up.
Dog owners were dobbed into the council and the rangers had words with them (they don't usually bother where I live!) and they abused the cat owner and the bloke said he'd shoot his cats.
He was reported to the local cops who advised "We don't get involved in domestics"!!!
I don't think threats to shoot anyone or anything can be described as domestic but cat owner didn't want to push it as he's also a gun owner, and didn't want cops rampaging around and confiscating his guns although he hadn't done the threatening.
I told him to report the bloke for speeding and he would have got a better reaction as that really is dangerous.:o

My sympathies go to the gun owner, and I don’t like guns.
But if this guy has done nothing to the hoons prior to him giving them what they deserve, then as posted, they got what they deserved.
The trouble is, while he may have actually resolved the problem for the whole neighbourhood, he is the one that will have to pay.
Real fair judicial system we live under.
The crooks get protected while the innocent get ignored.

I don't know if you would call the guy innocent... he fired a gun at somebody?
I hate hoons as much as the next person, but you can't expect to take the law into your own hands so carelessly and not expect some kind of retribution from somewhere. There would have to be a smarter way to go about solving the problem than pulling out a rifle. would have been good if he hit the tyres though.

Does that mean we will have to refer to you as "Bluey" instead of "Sandy"?
As a gun owner I do not condone taking pot-shots at people or their property but you can sense the level of frustration that this person must have felt to go and do something like that.
I had a couple of young blokes near me who were doing up an old RX3 Mazda rotary a few years back and used to use my street and adjoining road as their private test circuit. They failed to see that running a rotary with no exaust at 120kph in a residential street with kids living in it as being a problem.
It was only after dozens of calls from all the persons in my street that the cops came out. It was a classic, the cops were telling us that they could not do anything unless they actually caught them doing it when down the street the dulcid tones of the high revving rotary could be clearly heard.
30 seconds later round the corner they came almost on two wheels, right past the cops. That was the last time we heard the rotary.
It was interesting though that in the next two months, my car rear window was broken twice and small items like my sports coat and CD wallet were stolen out of the car. Of course this was only a coincidence.

But Chenz, and I believe this is the crux of the thread,........you didn't shoot at them did you?

Maybe, but I tend to think he was a nut job. and maybe a shoter fuse then a gun owner needs to have. If you've got all your faculties intact you ain't going to go taking shots at someone without knowing the repucussions.
Maybe he was just such a giving person that he knew what would happen to him but he was still willing to sort the drama out for the neighbourhood so what a kind soul.

No. The only things I shoot at are ferals and then only as pest eradication or for a feed.
By the sound of things these ferals don't deserve a feed.
I agree that a person would have to be slightly unstable to take a pot-shot and this will only bring the rest of the law abiding shooting fratenrity to go through the usual "anti-gun" "ban em all" diatribe - AGAIN.

Irony is that, so far, that has not been the case.
I haven’t heard any more about it lately but even at the time, it was reported that the shooter was being questioned by police.
Now I’m pretty sure he will probably be charged with something but even the original story was reported in a way that showed some sympathy for the shooter while the news reporter went to lengths to show the ferals for what they were.
The incident had taken place in a housing commission estate and the reporter noted that the residents were in the midst of putting a partition together to get the ferals kicked out.
That in itself should say it all and at no time have I heard mention of any form of anti gun statements.

As for Dobbo I think it was intended for the "If its too loud, your too old" type......as who didn't squeal their tyres, rev their V8's during their youth.
But I feel that if you don't do something about it, two things will happen, firstly it will eat into you like a Cancer, secondly the hoons will just keep doing it in your street.
An associate of mine lost his license for 12 months after an elderly gentleman video taped him doing a huge burn out over a speed hump in his street, police matched the tape to the rubber marks and shebang your nicked...;)
Do whats right....heaps of empty back roads to play if they have to.
personally I would impound the vehicles for 30 days first offence, loss of license 12 months second offense, crush their cars on the third offence.
"P" platers with GenIII 6 lt V8's bit different to the mark II Escorts of my day.
