Well again today we attempted the creek track that has thwarted us between 1 and 2 times previously. And this time we all made it!!!:)

Quite a lot of winching, track building and so on but an awesome day...

Cars.

MickG: D2
Camo: RRC
Aquarangie: RRC
Stikman: D1
Psimpson7: D90

Passengers

Shepp
Outlaw

Downsides: Heatstroke, panel damage - everyone nearly - including my rear tub, exhaust damage, My CB ariel, Camo's rear a-frame, me dropping Sams camera in a puddle,(while falling flat on my face in it....) etc etc etc..

Upsides: The SD card still works, we (well I at least) never have to attempt it again, and beer and donughts upon return!!:)

Was a great day :D but yes i think i can cross it off my list as done ;) First third is tough right from the first meter, zero room for error and any slip ups hurt. Last two third which we had not done before was awesome  nice steps, ledges, and cliff faces  but more forgiving so more fun, for me anyway

Thanks to all that attended, once again some nice driving and a great bunch :)

Thanks for the pics Pete, and bring on the vids :p

Hey Pete! D'you really think I can get up there with my 'baby' 33's, only 1 locker and a sals in the rear!!!?????:o Looks like a winch is on the cards before I come up to your part of the world then!:p

Great pics mate, and yes I WILL take you up on the invite as soon as we're up that way. Missus took a look at the pics and said 'when do we go?'

Trav only had 1 locker and 33's so anythings possible... the clearance of the sals wont help though!! I wont do that track again...

Only Stikman ran 35's

As Stikman said the first 250m is very very hard going...

i got stuck within a car length of the start again....:o

Top job guys, yes would have been a hot one. Wish I could have been there but the Isuzu rattled the intercooler off the motor:mad:.

Not to be left out I jumped on the tractor and slashed the ''Camel trophy paddock'' Mud ,rocks, 35 deg angles, holes you cant see bla bla bla. Still trying to get my sphincter to work properly:o. At least I did'nt need to get the Rangy and winch the tractor out again.

Great photos as well.

Good day, completely rooted after all that.

The dunga sufferd a fair bit of damage, but I was still able to drive it home :D. My LRA flares are not non-existent on the rear after hammering them on the rocks, one bent gearbox mount (rubber still intact, have a spare) bent RHS guard and one completly smashed rear RHS tailight (have spare too). My exhaust has a nasty leak in it somewhere so off to the exhaust shop I go tomorrow and the fuel tank is now about 6 liters less thanks to that rock I leaped over

Tell you what, an LT77 with 33's with std gearing SUCKS BIGTIME :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:. At least with an auto I can control the revs more and drive a bit more finess and my lack of manual off-road driving in the last decade really shone through today :( I was constantly having problems with geting the right speed over some of the real difficult sections and with a knackerd 3.5 with 400+k's on the dial that doesn't help with compression...or lack of it.

Once again, great day with a good crew as well. thanks to Shepp and Outlaw for there assistance with getting the dunga through that creek run.

The track is in Ormeau in SE Qld.

I dont have any video footage, but there should be some..

Shepp had his camera out a bit, and Mick cable tied his to the Disco roof!

Cracking day guys and more so because we conquered the track and all drove our cars home again. Although we all suffered some slight damage, it all semed to be largely cosmetic and given the severiy of some of the sections....in fact the entire track, that is quite remarkable IMO. There were plenty of diff crunching and tail shaft snapping opportunities from start to finish.
Whole track is about 0.8-1k long we reckon with NO let up at any part. Every metre has to be driven with full concentration and guidance, hence why it took us the best part of about 5 & 1/2 hours to get 5 cars through. Each car was on it's own winch many times and after a few winches, we had it pretty well sorted.
Hoping that my camera tied to my roof catches some decent footage but once Camo has had a chance to play with all 3 tapes, maybe he can edit some magic together.
Really is a great track but one of those once you're in your in kind:D My kind of track every time......although is has given me more reason to try and create a more "friendly" front bar for the mack truck. The ARB bar is simply no good for this sort of stuff unless you have a huge lift as all it does is stops you being able to nose up onto steep rocks or ledges........a lot of track building was done yesterday I can tell you:eek:
Very happy to have conquered this track at long last and I would definitely do it again, so if any of you interstaters are up this way soon, let us know and we'll put another team together:D:D

Big thanks to Shepp, Josh, Camo, Pete, Stikman (& Chloe) & Trav for all the guidance and spotting with each car. Great day out even if it was a full day's work out......but then that is what 4wding is all about:D:D:D:D

Until next time, Mick

P.S. Great pics Pete, particularly pics 2 & 3 as they given some perspective on what the terrain was like.

Thanks everyone for a great day:D

Will have to admit yesterday was the hardest terrain I have ever been in:eek:
I thought at the start there was no way are we all gonna get through this..but lots of winching and track building I realized anything is possible!

Big thanks to Shepp and Outlaw for assisting and guiding as it helped alot! thankyou..

Well now I am convinced my next set of tyres are going to be 35's.. never thought I would see the day

Great day.. very long one at that!.. 5.5hours for 1km.. bloody hell!

Had a look over mine earlier, and I seem to have escaped any major damage underneath.

Final tally for me seems to be

Galvanising scraped off rear trailing arm mounts in a couple of spots
paint scrape on one trailing arm
dented exhaust silencer
snapped uhf ariel
big dent in rear tub above and behind fuel filler
scrapes on OS roof (again)
couple of new dents in front diff housing.

As others have said. Thanks to everyone.

Bloody good track although I now have this weekend to repair the damaged exhaust and **** those flares off, but it's a cheap car so I'm not botherd

Did I mention the dented fuel tank, have a spare, that'll go in as well as some new recovery hooks to **** that bloody ARB rear bar off :mad::mad:

Driving.....superb...had me biting my nails at times.
