I spotted this 'accessory' attached to the seatbox of a S2A shorty. It looks to be very well made and fits snuggly around the handbrake etc. The side section is a little worst for wear but the front is OK. I have never seen one before so I thought I would post a pic of it.
Is it a heat shield of some type. Is it an 'extra' you could order through the Land Rover dealership?

I know you can get after market oens, but not normally for the seat box. I can't see anything in the optional parts catalouge for the 2a either. Maybe a local thing?

Soundproofing/appearance. I doubt it's a pocket as you can see what appears to be adhesive on the side panel.

I have seen nothing like this on the seat box, but it is similar to the delux trim on the firewall and transmission tunnel of the S3 I have. Possibly fitted to some station wagons.
