Well thought it was time to pop it up outside and see how I went with it. Sooooooooooo easy to put up and stress free, all ready to go camp crazy this year. So tonight I figured if it can survive a 12, 10 and 5 yr old...it will be all good. Then next time I take pics will be over the Oz long weekend trip to Mt Moffat...my first time camping in a NP with the kids. Just hope we can get everything sorted in time. Here are some snaps:

A few tips that I have learnt from mine:
Try to have the back facing the wind for obvious reasons. If though, the wind picks up during the day from the front, lower the front awning so it is more aero dynamic. It may be a good idea to do this before bed just in case.
I like to be as self sufficient as possible and this tent is great for collecting water off it during rain. You can angle the awning so it is lower at one end and direct water runoff into a bucket.
Condensation is a problem along with heat. As you would have worked out you can peg the back window out so air gets in but no rain. I may invest in a fly in future.
People will come up to you and ask if they are worth the money. When you have a kid screaming in the car and you're dying for a beer a quick setup pays for itself very quickly.
Enjoy the tent!

Enjoy the tent! Thanks for the tips.....a fly will be on the cards down the track...if not sooner.....have to take one step at a time with SWMBO :). Yep understand the last one...our current tent is a 2 bedroom oztrail....took me at least an hr or 2 to set up on my own...then set up everything else with a then 10/9/3 yr old wanting this that and everything. With a now 9 mth old plus them...will be a lot easier...though the older 3 will be in their own tent,

ah ..remote camping can't beat it.
get yourself a few extra big pegs and maybe some of those sand pegs. The standard pegs are not much good in sand or soft dirt.
I've got some that are made with a bit of angle iron - the plastic sand pegs are useless.

Is that the 5 person one stevo? Hey mate, yes it is...though 5 adults would be keen....that or swingers :o. Depends on what you sleep on I guess. We could fit 4 single blow up mattresses in their with a bit of space left over. Hence why we got the side and front panel as that adds virtually another room and the front panel comes with an awning as well. We got the RV5 for the following combos:
Myself and 3 of my children.
Myself, SWMBO and our 9mth old and the other 3 will go in another tent.
Myself on my own.
Kids loved it...hoping it storms today to see how it goes with that,

Ah ha...funny buggers you lot :p. Now Mrs HH, I also did go with 3 children and the dunny paper is also good for wiping noses and cleaning up if need be. Plus I am a firm believer of being prepared.
In answer to Sleepy, thanks, best set up I have had to date.....the camp kitchen makes a huge difference. As for the baked beans...ya gotta have em...you know...baked beans make ya heart etc etc :D
Bigjon...you been talking to my missus about how I can be a little...ummm...dozey . In this instance, I did remember....just :o:),

That looks like the most perfect camp site ever....flat ground, short grass, good visibility all round..
Anyone know of a similar camp group within a few hours from Sydney?
Good choice Steve. I like the look of your roof racks as well.....

Good choice Steve. I like the look of your roof racks as well..... Hey mate...yep was a great camp ground....with rock pools 100 metres away...so great for an afternoon dip to cool off. Have been impressed with the racks...aside from looking good. Can't help with Sydney..almost 20 yrs since I lived there.
Damn it Andrew.....Sssshhhhh.....letting people in on my "secrets"......it was actually a huge mutha of a battery in the engine bay I was charging that would then run off solar energy during the day...and moon light at night to run car, fridge, lights, Plasma, stereo etc ;),

Looks good Stevo. Might have to get one of those for those short fishing trips when I can't be bothered taking the trailer or want to camp a bit further up the beach.
I've still got an old Jackaroo 3 room tent in pretty good condition, but it takes the best part of an hour to put it up, and that's with 2 people. Was great when the kids used to come camping with us, but they've grown out of that these days.

Hey mate...if you were just looking to take the main part of the tent....you literally have the bulk of it up in 30 secs. A few pegs and the poles up...another 10 mins....tent done. Going camping again this weekend :D,
