Its official I got the position and I have been asked to start on the 21/02/09:eek:......minimum 5 yrs.
Problems thus far I have a shed full of stuff, tools Landy bit n pieces, back garden is being renovated and I require 100 CuMetres of clean fill:eek:.
Apart from that we are all ready for the move.

As of the 01/03/09 any construction trades down G.C way I will be hunting you down to do work for me on a regular basis. I will post a thread in the correct area.

I will also want to join a Landrover owners club that drives Landrovers..woohoo.

We will rent for 3-6months to establish where we want to live once we get to know the area, so many beaut homes relatively cheap our short list ended up at about 30 homes:D

So Love or hate the Dawg, he is coming to home near YOU:D:D

Good to hear Dirty.

Hay, if they move here from down south, we call them Mexicans.

What do we call them if they move here from WA, Hawaiians?

Good Luck!

The LROCB (B= brisbane) is also a good club, and doesn't allow non-landrovers on trips. Plenty of defender owners, and they do a lot of trips.

There are quite a lot of 4x4 parks/properties close to that area. My favourites are probably Levuka and Brooklyn.

There are also lots of state forests, but the better ones are mostly north of Brisbane - Glasshouse mountains, imbil, kennilworth, etc...

The hills are MUCH steeper than WA.

Good luck to you. I did the extact same thing a few years back, but am now in Perth once more. We drove straight through the guts from Perth-Kal-Alice-Cairns, hitting dirt all the way through Gunbarrell and Plenty Highways. awesome.

and the Goldys pretty good as well.

Best of luck starting out on your new adventure! The dooms day sayers recon this place is headed for a recession, so perhaps a good time to get out before house prices really drop.

Sad to see another Landy tragic leave Roley!

All the best,

Good Luck!

The hills are MUCH steeper than WA.

True, but try pulling 140 tonne over "the 50kay jump-up" south of Marble Bar with an auto shifting roadranger :o

I came back home (to Brisbane) last August, FNQ, Gulf & Pt. Hedland. After 5years away I needed to use the refidex (Qld speak you'll need to learn) :D

PM me if you are looking for a removal truck, I did all the legwork when I came back.

Cheers (WA speak that I picked up) ;)
