Nice rig for $1500, looks like an 87-88 Rangie Hi-Line (87 model VIN is DA 88 model is EA suffix).

Watch the LPG with that AFM, they have a nasty habbit of blowing the bastard to pieces if you're not careful.

Great model. Has LT230:) Nice and simple to fix electrics etc.
LPG and dunny door efi will be ok if you keep good plugs, leads and keep it well tuned. No backfires:eek:
Good luck with it.

Nice. I have a soft spot for silver RRs ;).

It's an '88 (leather steering wheel, heater pipes outside the manifold, thin brake booster) which is the pick of the Classics IMO.

TIM. You need one with a 4BD1 or 300 shoved in it.
Is't it funny that apparently a 3.5 ltr V8 Rangie is faster than a 3.8 V6Dunny Dore:confused:
It's not fair. Thats for sure.

My old 87 Hi-Line looked identical under the bonnet. Had the later style brake booster and all but had the bigger (and much better) early CV's. Also had no leather bound steering wheel as you mentioned.

No big difference, the Vogue were fitted with Viscous Coupling transfer case and had different door trims, fabric on the seats were a bit different but it was purely cosmetic.

It's definatley an 88 with EA VIN number (my 87 was 12/87 compliance with DA VIN number).

a nice buy toey1977.
these are a great car and you've paid the right price. i would echo the advice to get the best plug leads you can get. european auto imports have the bougicord sets at an affordable price but there are also good suppliers who can make you some up to pattern. to avoid backfires trashing the afm there is a kit available from the uk that automatically holds the flap inside the unit open when running on gas.
i'd really have a close look at that suggested p.a.s. leak. they are notorious for it. check the fluid for aeration (bubbles) after giving it a good work out lock to lock several times.
where abouts are you located ? i have recently wrecked an '88 model and i've got some bumper caps around.
